Data Deletion

You are in control of the data you put into UpstarAI. This page explains how to delete it, what is removed, what we may keep and why, and how long it takes. It applies to account and workspace data and works together with our Privacy Policy.

If you are an owner or admin of an organization, you can act immediately in the dashboard:

• Remove a connected profile. Open the business, go to Connections, and remove the profile. We stop collecting data for it.
• Delete a business. Open the business, go to Manage business, choose Delete business and confirm. This permanently deletes the business and the records described in What is deleted.

Deleting a business cannot be undone.

To delete your account, or to delete an entire organization and everything in it, email privacy@upstarai.com from the email address registered on the account.

1. Send your request. Say whether you want your account, an organization, or both deleted. For an organization, include its name.
2. We verify it. We confirm that the request comes from the account holder, and for an organization that the requester is an owner. We may reply with questions.
3. We delete. We delete the data within 30 days of verifying your request and then confirm by email.

If you are the only owner of an organization that has other members, we will contact you before anything is deleted, so that you can transfer ownership or confirm the deletion.

• Your account

  What happens

  Name, username, email address, password hash, sign-in sessions and any pending verification or reset links are deleted, and you are removed from organizations.

• A business and its workspace records

  What happens

  Business profile, connections, people records and notes, scores, classifications, suggested messages, alerts and refresh history are deleted.

• An organization

  What happens

  The organization, its memberships and invitations, and all of its businesses and their workspace records are deleted.

Some data is not removed immediately or is handled differently. This is how long each kind of data is kept:

• Account and workspace data

  How long

  Kept while your account is active. After a verified deletion request it is removed from our live systems within 30 days.

• Backups

  How long

  Deleted data can remain in encrypted backups until they are overwritten, which happens within 90 days.

• Connected platform data

  How long

  Stored separately from your workspace records and kept for as long as it remains necessary to provide the Service. It is not removed when you delete a workspace or an account.

• Logs, error reports and session replays

  How long

  Kept for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymised.

• Verification and password reset links

  How long

  Single-use and short-lived. We store only a hashed form of each link’s token.

• Records the law requires us to keep

  How long

  Kept for as long as the law requires, and used only for that purpose.

We keep data we are legally required to retain, and we use it only for that purpose. Where we keep data for security, fraud prevention or a legal claim, we keep only what is needed.

• Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore data once it has been removed.
• Save anything you need from your workspace first, such as notes and messages.
• Deleting data does not cancel agreements with other companies, such as the social platforms you connected.
• Deleting your data ends your use of the Service. You can register again at any time, but you will start with an empty workspace.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to ask for your personal data to be erased, and to correct it, access information about it, and withdraw consent. See Your rights in the Privacy Policy.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, tell us first at privacy@upstarai.com. If we do not resolve it, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India as the Act provides.
